- My AT&T System is beeping!
If it is beeping 2 times every 40 seconds, go to the Control Panel (the
big box) and touch the "Messages" button. Doing so stops the beeps and
tells you what the reason for the beeping is. Look to see what number is
displayed in
the window, and what light is on next to the number (Alarm, Low battery, or No check in). The AC Power light should always be on. It is important to clear out alarm
messages as they happen, because the messages store numerically, not chronologically...so
that if you want to know where the alarm came from, if you have old messages stored in the
panel, we can't tell. To clear the alarm message, just hit the "Messages"
button, then the "Clear Display" button, until you get -0. A low battery
doesn't have to be changed in the middle of the night, just hit "Messages" to
stop the beeps, and when it's convenient, call American Protection at (800)841-3473 or
change the battery.
- My smoke sensor is beeping! The only way to stop a smoke sensor from beeping is to change the
batteries (2 9-volt Duracells) or take the batteries out until you can change them. You
will not set the system off , just don't hit the "test" button. The
only other thing you need to know if you are changing them is: after you take out the old
batteries, wait 60 seconds before putting in the new ones.
- My Ademco/Honeywell/First Alert System alarm went off and I can't
clear the keypad!...Just put in your code and hit
off...do this 2 times.
DID YOU KNOW...........
- (AT&T Systems).....You can open the door without turning off
the system? You can keep the system "armed", just put in your code and hit the
"open" button. Open the door and leave. When you come home, just put
in your code, the system is still "armed".
- (AT&T Systems)....You can tell what status the system is in by
touching the status buttons? eg: Press "off". If the system is off you
will hear one beep from the panel. If no beep, press "home". If still no beep,
press "away". You will get a confirmation beep when you push the right
button.
- (AT&T Systems)....You can set off a silent alarm (ambush
signal) by putting your code in backward? The central station will NOT call back.
You will have the police dispatched.
- (AT&T Systems).....The button on the window transmitters is a
"police panic" button? Again, the central station will Not call
back, they dispatch police, but the alarm does go off.
- (AT&T Systems)...You can have/add a portable Arming keypad?
